Clearview Treatment Programs, a premier treatment center for Borderline Personality Disorder (BPD) in Los Angeles, is presenting “Fundamentals of DBT: A Comprehensive Introduction to Dialectical Behavior Therapy” on Friday, October 14, 2011.
Following its successful Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) workshops in Los Angeles, Clearview decided to offer needed education on DBT therapy to clinicians in Orange County.
“We’ve had such a great response to our Los Angeles DBT workshops that we wanted to offer Orange County clinicians the opportunity to learn more about DBT,” said Michael Roy, MSW, founder and executive director of Clearview Treatment Programs and Clearview Women’s Center for Borderline Personality and Emotional Disorders.
About the DBT Workshop
The Fundamentals of DBT workshop will provide participants a working knowledge of Dialectical Behavior Therapy, which was specifically developed for BPD treatment, and its clinical application. Participants will learn about the appropriate populations and biosocial theory of DBT, the components of a DBT-adherent treatment model, and the four DBT skills: mindfulness, interpersonal effectiveness, emotion regulation, and distress tolerance.
The DBT therapy and skills workshop will be presented by Alina Gorgorian, Ph.D., clinical director of Clearview Women’s Center for Borderline Personality and Emotional Disorders.
The workshop will be held from 9:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. at Balboa Bay Club in Newport Beach, Calif. Admission to the workshop is $85.
The DBT therapy training and skills workshop meets the qualifications for five hours of continuing education credits for marriage and family therapists and licensed clinical social workers.
