Clearview Women’s Center, a residential treatment center in Los Angeles, is presenting “Treatment Strategies for Borderline Personality Disorder and Trauma” on Friday, June 25, 2010.
The seminar is geared toward treatment professionals and will focus on the use of Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), Somatic Experiencing and psychiatric management to treat the disorders.
“This workshop will provide valuable information as well as practical skills to help treat a difficult patient population,” said Michael Roy, MSW, founder and executive director of Clearview Women’s Center.
Featured speakers at the seminar include Katherine Niemela, RN, MN, clinical director at Clearview Women’s Center; Julie de Santo, MA, SEP, coordinator of trauma services at Clearview Treatment Programs; and Itai Danovich, MD, director of addiction psychiatry clinical services at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles.
The seminar will be held from 8:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. at Clearview Treatment Programs’ newest location in Venice Beach, Calif. Admission to the seminar is $35, which includes breakfast and lunch.
The seminar meets the qualifications for three hours of continuing education credit for marriage and family therapists and/or licensed clinical social workers.
